If anything physical could standstill, it would be instantly crushed and dissipated by the current which it resisted, and if it is a person who tries to standstill within their mind, to focused, they become crazed and that person who holds one emotion or thought usually ends up insane because they have not allowed the mind to make adjustments and correct things that need to be corrected.
There is no question that we receive the most out of all of our experiences by being present within the moment. When we realize that there is an eternal flow of cause and effect, a constant procession of emanations that occur because this is the schoolroom which we occupy; when we come to the realization that there is a part of us that watches and observes our own actions; our reactions to our actions; our choices and decisions that lead to further actions, reactions, choices and decisions; then we realize that what we experience does not diminish us, but is meant to elevate us.
The wise philosopher said, flow with the course of nature. All greatness comes in degrees. There is more above than below. “Experiences always introduces us to facts…any experience is leading us to a universal experience.” This same philosopher said, “He was a rocking stone always tilting, but never overthrown.”
Emerson stated, “Every moment instructs though we know it not and call today trivial for wisdom is so melted and disguised into every form that we know it not as wisdom. It was poured into me as blood and I knew not it was wisdom; it convulsed in me as pain and I suspected not it was wisdom; it slid into me as pleasure, I guessed not its value. It enveloped me in dull melancholy days, I wished it gone, and I could not discern its real nature.”
‘Whosoever apprehends the infinite and every person can, brings all worth and significance into that spot where they stand though it be a ditch, a potato-field, a work-bench or wherever they be.
“The world is an echo which returns to us what we say and think.”
