The following story appeared in UPI, May 23, 1984. I am presenting the story in its entirety because each of the statements, made by a highly regarded surgeon in England, is profound and important. My post is not intended to promote the product mentioned in the article.

'Our studies indicate pulsed high-frequency electromagnetic energy offers a most promising avenue to a cure of paralysis,' surgeon David Hedley Wilson said in an interview Tuesday.
'We plan to begin human tests soon,' said Wilson, president of the Association of Accident and Emergency Physicians of England and head of the Accident and Emergency Department of the General Infirmary at Leeds University Hospital. But Wilson cautioned that 'we are just at the beginning of a long journey,' although 'there's no limit to the number of paralyzed people this might benefit.'
Wilson was one of the first researchers to utilize a device that generates radio waves at 27.12 megahertz, just above the frequency of television, emitting an electromagnetic field.
The unit, manufactured by Diapulse Corp. of America of Great Neck, N.Y., now is used throughout Great Britain and Canada but has been approved only for research in the United States.

'The radio frequencies are harmless, painless and can travel through dressings or plastic casts to speed recovery and repair damaged nerves,' Wilson reported at the International Symposium of the American Paralysis Association.
In treating thousands of patients with soft-tissue injuries during the past decade, Wilson found the device quickened by as much as four times the healing process in sprains, post-operative wounds, burns, bone fractures, swollen joints.
'We see it now as having enormous potential in the treatment of acute spinal injuries, with indications that it promotes regeneration of nerves in injuries once thought to result in lifelong paralysis,' Wilson said.
In his latest studies with cats, he found Diapulse used within four hours of the injury minimized scar tissue, which forms a barrier to messages passing through the injury site. Of 40 cats paralyzed because of spinal cord damage, 38 were able to walk again.
'The wall of each cell in the body has an electric charge. When the cell is injured, it loses some of the charge, takes in water and sodium and swells. If it loses all its charge, it allows too much water inside and bursts,' Wilson explained.
'We found a sick cell with some of the charge missing can recover if the original charge is restored. That's what Diapulse does.'
'We're battling majority opinion that the injured central nervous system is an unsolvable puzzle,' he said. 'But we believe the paralyzed are not faced with a permanently hopeless situation.'”
During my consulting position with Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company, the head physician for Mutual Benefit Life installed two devices at the corporate headquarters in New Jersey in 1989. At that time, the device was used on approximately 1,000 employees with a variety of health challenges. Virtually all of the problems were rectified using this frequency device.
