Rainbow pattern color therapy
Color has a profound effect upon humans, animals and insects. Back in the early 1930s a brochure advertised that you would be free of flies and ants if you kept a red glass in the widow of your room. It has been proven through experimentation that various colors have profound effects on all types of insects.

The use of color therapy on people dates back to the earliest Greek period and there are even earlier references in Egypt and India. The Greeks used specific colors on their architecture in the belief that the people living in the community and walking by different colored buildings would be effected enough to produce needed social changes within the community.
The Greeks assigned different colors to some of their Gods and in changing the colors of buildings they were changing the ruler-ship over specific activities. During times of battles, some structures were painted red and during times of peace they would paint the buildings green.

The ancient Greeks also experimented with color for health. Pythagoras over 2,500 years ago discovered that with sound, color and geometric forms he could cure any ailment known to man. Pythagoras also relates that color, form and sound could have lethal consequences. “On one occasion he drew a complicated crystal solid and showed it to a sick man. The man died a few moments later. He changed the form of the crystal solid and used it in another case that was very similar and found a therapeutic effect was produced almost immediately.”

Pythagoras held up discs of color before people’s faces and found he could change their health condition. Today we have discovered that by holding up various colors before the face of a person, we can change their blood pressure, their pulse rate and their respiration. I have written previous posts on the SpectroChrome color system of Dinshah Ghadiali.

Dinshah developed a 12-color system that is effective for more than 325 different health conditions. I have found Dinshah’s system to be very effective in working with more than 500 people over the last 43 years.

Colors can be utilized in several different manners including light bulbs, filters, paint on walls, various ornaments and clothing.

The most intimate thing to most people is the clothing they wear. Clothing is a filter for light. It is possible for people to dress in colors that will help them with particular health problems. The colors of the foods we eat also can have a profound effect upon our health. Particular colored foods can create stimulus for vitality as well as provide a sedative power for people who are of a nervous disposition. Through the use of food and clothing we can improve our overall disposition.

Combinations of home furnishing, furniture colors along with the colors of the walls and carpeting in your home can have a profound effect on your health and your viewpoint of life in general.

It was said that Apollonius of Tyana, approximately 30 AD, was told by the Brahman priests to make seven rings corresponding to each day of the week. Each ring had a different color stone and Apollonius was instructed to concentrate and permeate himself with the color of the stone, during the time he wore it each day. It is written that Apollonius lived to 120 years old in perfect health. Many so-called remarkable and magical activities have been associated with Apollonius.

Color therapy has been used as a therapy for cancer, arthritis, diabetes, severe burns and many other debilitating health problems. Color has been shown to have an effect on the test scores of students who were placed in different color rooms during testing. Color has been shown to calm down violent prisoners placed in specific colored rooms. The colors that you surround you have an effect on your health and your viewpoint of life. How do you color your world?

I’ve only spoken about the physical use of colors. With the power of your imagination, faith and will, surrounding yourself with a specific color or projecting a color to assist someone with a health difficulty, is a natural ability that you possess.

A good book on color therapy is Let There Be Light by Dinshah Ghadiali.

To inspire and empower.
