How Do They Have that Green Thumb?

Why is it that some people appear to have a green thumb and others do not?  Why is it that some people have almost a complete control of animals and others do not?

Why is it that some doctors and nurses seem to create a healing when they enter the hospital room even before they have dispensed any medicine?   Why do some patients relate much better to one doctor or nurse over another?

One possible explanation is that these individuals are in resonance with the archetype related to their interest or profession. 

The ancients built idols and images created in the likeness of some deity.  Despite what some people believe today, the ancients did not believe that the idol was actually doing the healing but the deity that was behind that stone, marble or metal figure was whom they were aligning with.

Our more modern interpretation, if you consider 300 BC more modern, would refer to the deities being archetypes or Principle.  “If an image was constructed with the proper skill, it became sufficient similar to the Principle for which it stood and a sympathy could now exist.  The sympathy resulted in a motion of energy from the original to the symbol and from the symbol to the receiver.”  Therefore a deity was not distant but now closer to the receiver or requestor.

The Archetype would be the ultimate pattern or form of any person, object or thing.  The ancient concept stated, “Things alike cannot be kept separate, things not alike cannot be reconciled.”  Therefore when a form comes into harmony with an archetype, there is a release of energy, from the Archetype to the form that is consistent with it.    The moment the form varies from Archetype, the sympathetic bond is broken and the energy is no longer present to the same degree. 

The uniqueness of our construction as human beings is that “within us is the sympathetic potential polarity of all things.”  We (YOU) are capable of knowing all things, being all things and attuning to all things because the roots of all seeds of all things are within YOU.

Some of the great philosophical thinkers form the past felt that in order to align to the highest of Archetypes, “An individual must come from innocence to virtue, childishness to child and then to an individual who voluntarily surrenders his opinions and realigns himself with an Archetype, or a pattern of the highest value.”

In the case of the doctor that seems to have something special about him or her, “A physician who is only a scientist is not responsive to archetype, only science.  The individual must be more than just physical, he or she must be a philosopher.  As a philosopher the individual brings in archetypal remedial ancient philosophy or Reason as part of health.  This individual now aligned with the great archetype relates now to the three natures of the self; spiritual, intellectual and physical.”

Now I am sharing with you the thoughts of individual healer/philosophers from around 2,000 years ago, but I feel that we can still gain some greater understanding from their viewpoints.
As the ancients conceived of various archetypes they established a specialized group of requirements that included;

Absolute Sincerity
Simple Honesty
Intuitive Integrity
Instinctive Ability
 
These types of personality traits released the power of the archetype.  In regards to the doctors and nurses, the doctor or nurse is the greatest medicine, not pills or shots.  The doctor is the healing balm and releases it archetypically into the body of the patient.  The ancients believed that the archetypical doctor heals by:
 
His/Her Dedication
His/Her Intellect
His/Her Intuition,
His/Her Emotions
His/Her Consciousness
 
The doctor instinctively and naturally discovers the remedy by becoming open, becoming completely dedicated to truth.  The doctor is no longer blocked by traditional knowledge or academic reputation.
 
What I am sharing above is the same for those who work with pets, grow plants or a person who becomes a lawyer, clergyman or any other profession.  Conceive of a perfectly dedicated person whose ultimate genius lies in their adjustment, harmony and sympathetic alignment to the archetype of their subject or interest.
 
“If any human character or temperament identifies its conduct with archetype, it them becomes a container or reservoir of energy from the archetype.”  “We exist in a material universe supported upon a magnificent framework of universal principles manifesting as radiant blossoms or archetypes.”
 
Can you image what the perfect archetype would be in your field of interest, line of work or someone you would admire as a teacher or leader?
 
I have taken some free license from the old writings by substituting the word individual or His/Her where they have written Man or Him in some of the old quotes.  But rest assured that these beacon lights from the past recognized both women and men in their writings.  So I take responsibility for alterations like these in some of the quotes.

Comprehending the Light Within

People are visible to us, we can touch them, listen to them speak, take a photographic reproduction, but what do we know about the person? How much do these things actually tell us about the person?

In reality, a person is actually a ‘being’ that is unknown in his total manifestations. We can only estimate those parts of a person which are within the gamut of sensory perception that we utilize.
It is the same with many elements in nature, we only know their outward characteristics but not their inner substances or the laws that they follow.

“All elements are essentially invisible. The visible parts that we see are merely extensions into compounds that we call form.”

“We cannot follow some of the parts that extend into greater dimensions so we assume we are surrounded by space. Space is a reservoir of dimensions.”

The ancients believed that aspects of the elements of nature exist beyond our dimensional awareness. We don’t just live in 3-dimensions, but infinite dimensions. The ancient schools of higher learning believed that human beings are hypnotized in believing they are bound by three dimensions and the focus of their teaching was to assist their students to breakthrough to other dimensions.

There are forms beyond our 3-dimensions which we cannot capture but they do exist. T.V. and radio waves move through us. These waves have an existence and integration beyond our limited sensory comprehension.

The more enlightened individuals from the past believed that human beings already possess mechanisms that would allow for the extension of our consciousness into the multi-dimensional universe.

“We don’t really see because our comparative ignorance of the subjective is due to our hypnotic addiction to the objective.”

We have directed and trained our faculties only in one direction. Our senses do not take in a full area of what they ultimately are capable of, which they might be able to ascertain, had they adequate instruction.

“Small children retain a certain capacity to penetrate dimensions as well as primitive people. Primitive people are closer to nature and they are not conditioned to sophisticated intellectualism. Primitive peoples always insist on the sub-mundane beings or creatures existing within the elements.”

We only view the surfaces of things and are assessment is going to be based upon the quality of our observation. Our limited perception, which also may be faulty, cannot observe depths nor grasp beyond our five senses.

In most cases we only learn trivia, whether it is our observation of people or in our observance of the universe, we do not see the causes which are not visible, apparent or immediately available.

Something interesting to consider…there are as many living parts within an individual’s human body as there are on the earth around the individual. There are millions, perhaps billions of minute units living within the human body.

Some ancient teachers believed that Humans are an order of life, not merely cells within a body, but a vast government, a hierarchy of internal structure. “They believed that there were not only gods in the heavens, there were gods within human beings. There are not only hierarchies in the universe but hierarchies within the organic structure of an individual.”

“Within the cellular, atomic and electronic structure of people, there is law, order, government, republic, democracy, dictatorship and tyranny. Every form without is found within.”

Just as storms may damage people’s property; moods, tempers, fits, hate and other emotions can disturb the psychic interior of a person’s atmosphere. So you see, you cannot always recognize just from the outside appearance of an individual, which form of government is in ascendancy within their internal kingdom. From just a cursory view from the outside you don’t know what is the driving force, thought or motivation that resides within that physical conveyance?

When we look at something or someone we see either its objective physical form or we perceive its light. Everything that lives, lives in light. Everything that exists, radiates light. All things derive their life from light because within light is life itself.

There is:

Spiritual light
Emotional light
Mental light
Vital light and
Physical light.

You can perceive things either according to their outward nature or according to their inward nature or light. We are used to perceiving things by just using our outer senses but we can learn to perceive things by our inner senses. “The heart has eyes as well as the body. The mind has ears and all internal parts of people have equivalent senses of cognition.”

Messages conveyed to each one of the body natures comes “either from light, which is the source of the energy that conveys, or from the working of light operating upon any level or plane.”
We see the life within nature because of light that shines within it; we see nature because of the light that shines upon it.

And of course the key is…by observation we behold things lighted, by intuition we behold things self-luminous. Intuitively we behold the true inner light of all creatures and substances; outwardly we see only the reflection of light upon creatures and substances by which they are visible to our sight.

I surround you with the highest and best with love, in love and through love.

Is Your Door Closed or Open?

If you place a person in a room, close all the windows and doors, the individual will generally kill himself by poisoning the atmosphere around him.  The individual in the room will suffocate as a result of the poison that he breathes into the air around him.  If there is no way the air can be purified he will suffocate in the end from the lack of oxygen.

Now most people would initially blame the atmosphere itself by saying the air is bad, not realizing until they take some moments to remember some of the science they learned in school that they are poisoning their own atmosphere.  So in order to have fresh live-giving air, there must be adequate ventilation.

Human feelings when they are kept in the same confined place, where freedom of ventilation is not possible will poison one to death; the individual who blocks the circulation of any part of nature, draws a circle of enclosure around their mind.  Following the old axiom; as above, so below, as below so above, one can understand that whenever a line of limitation is created to set aside or limit any area in which we live, it will ultimately poison and start a process of decay within an individual.

It is absolutely necessary that the atmosphere around an individual be kept in circulation and the individual live in the largest possible atmosphere.  What provides the largest possible atmosphere?  NATURE!

“To protect themselves against inclement weather, people build habitations for themselves.  In the same manner people;

Build their way of life
Build their policy of thinking
Build their religions and Creeds
Build their attitudes and prejudices.”
 
The activities I listed above are all natural and seem to be a part of human nature.  We are protecting ourselves against something outside of ourselves, against some collective atmosphere that we find disagreeable.
 
In the process of building these structures, if you leave doors and windows closed, one will finally stifle the self with their own poison and die while blaming the atmosphere.  The average person grows older closing windows and doors of their own mind. 
 
Nations, races and communities can suffocate themselves by closed doors.  That which is closed leads to death.  We can find closed doors with;
 
A closed mind
A closed heart,
A nation closing itself off through building borders and
Political systems that become too isolated.
 
All of the above deprive a body and psyche of natural circulation.
 
One of the old philosophers discovered that the greatest magical agent for health was a mysterious and intangible thing called the Human Will.  He found that those individuals that had the Will to do, the Will to Be, the Will to expand their borders; the people who had intense purpose or intense purposefulness in life, could successfully face almost any difficulty that was presented in life and that they were almost always the heathiest of individuals.

“An individual could believe in anything and die of anything, but the moment one believed anything, enough to do anything about it, the mysterious transition between the static state, (closed doors), and the dynamic state began.
 
These two states, static with limited circulation and dynamic with its more encompassing action was the keys to a persons’ health and well-being.  The key is an individual’s own action and this means a person’s contribution to their own way of life.  “Where an individual’s life actions gave strength, the individual became strong.  When an individual has only bitterness, contention and weakness in the faith that life is good, that people are good and they believe that the world is ‘out to get them,’ there is no escape from the final judgement of nature.”
 
Perhaps you might think that the following idea from ancient times is just this, ancient and not valid today.  Some old physicians and philosophers believed that, “health is a body cleansed of falseness in some way.  Sickness is a corruption of some kind.”  All sickness is in some way due to a poison. 
 
An old adage stated, “One needs more than common intelligence to know who he is, only the individual who studies himself properly and knows from when he comes and who he is, will give profound attention to the eternal.”  “Everything that a person does and has to do, he should do by the light of nature, for the light of nature is nothing other than reason itself.”
 
You should not judge people according to their physical stature, but honor them all equally.  “What can be learned by individuals is not properly called learning, because everything is prefigured even in the child; it must only be awakened and summoned forth by the individual.  If you awaken the stonecutter in a person, they will be a stonecutter, if you awaken the ability to make shoes, one will become a shoemaker; and if you summon forth the scholar in a person, they will become a scholar.  This is because all potentialities are inherent within human beings.  What you awaken comes forth, the rest remains un-awakened, absorbed in sleep. We are born to be awake, not to be asleep.”

Faith Healing, Prayer and Energy Medicine

In the ancient temples of healing the priest/physicians knew how to direct their own mental energy through a conformity with laws of structure, in which they could stimulate or vitalize the magnetic fields surrounding the various organs or psyche of their patients.

This was more than just a good thought method but rather they believed in the scientific directing of conscious thought that acted as specifically as our pharmaceutical products today.

In the far, far, far past the priest/physician was able to devise prescriptions, just like a physician today would give a written prescription, using mental energy which was directed to the patient.

Now an important factor with energy is faith.  There are some people who when they hear that word faith, they don’t believe that what is taking place has anything to do with science…but there is a science to the actions that take place through faith and mentalism.

A miracle is just a scientific fact that is unknown at this time.  Now faith healing works and operates according to a distinct pattern of laws, the most important being that the patient or receiving individual becomes receptive.

Faith and belief can be tranquilizing powers.  A little faith can be as good as a sleeping tablet.  “Under faith, a person ceases to fight, they often become more patient and the individual places himself psychologically in the care of something other than himself.  Placing one’s care in a higher aspect can be very important in the healing process.

Through faith, a sick individual ceases disobeying and fighting and no longer blocks the psychic fields of energy because of the tension and pressure they’ve placed upon themselves.  The patient now becomes open and available to remedies of all kinds.”

One of the secrets of the effectiveness of medication is that the person through the action of the medication overcomes their disposition of anxiety and fear which has been interfering with their health.  If the product is not too terribly detrimental with other side effects, the individual’s own innate healer does the rest.

Prayer produces much the same results as faith, except that faith is a receptive believing whereas prayer is a “more positive or objecting statement of conviction.”

The prayer attitude, the prayer formula, “the visualization in word, symbol or a strong belief, sets up vibrations which adjust to and associate with magnetic fields within and surrounding the human body.”
A positive statement of prayer has a vibratory positive rate which is therapeutic because it carries with it devotion, this is a subconscious sense of sublimity and restoration. Negative vibrations move in one direction and positive vibrations in the opposite direction.  When these vibrations clash it tends to neutralize or destroy each other’s effectiveness temporarily upsetting a weakened structure within an individual.

Whenever we have cross vibrations, we have a depletion of energy.  “Each human being is to be his own physician.  An individual becomes a physician for himself by keeping the law and holding such attitudes as to preserve the integrity of the magnetic fields within and surrounding the body.”

What is the law?  No vibration of a negative nature can injure a positive vibration because a positive vibration is true and never can be anything else.  But a negative vibration is established and set up due to the fact of the compound nature of our Being and we cut ourselves off from the positive vibrations.

We are spirit, we were originally created in perfection, but like some ships in the ocean, we have collected barnacles on our outer hull during our sojourns.  Standing in your own presence and understanding what is meant by carrying your own perfection within yourself; and when this is believed and becomes the ascendant concept within your thought stream, will lead to seemingly miraculous results for you and those you interact with during the living.

Anything that prevents the adequate flow of energy must be watched with the greatest care.  Energy flows take place be means of a vital etheric energy vehicle that carries tiny streams of energy.  When your arm goes to sleep, it means that the etheric magnetic fields has separated temporally from the physical structure.  The physical structure is temporarily without energy nutrition of a certain kind.

“All energy is not cut off because all energy is not in the etheric vehicle.  It is cut off temporarily and return of this energy field, which must break through the skin to return to its present or normal situation causes the prickling that accompanies the awakening of a sleeping arm or leg.”

Obstruction in a localized area is a process of death which can lead to the whole body being destroyed.  A gangrene finger can lead to the whole body dying.

The bottom line is that everything involves some action of energy.  Whether it is physical movement or mental activities, whether it is faith healing or prayer, energy is always present.  Why not resonate with positive energy through your thoughts, words and deeds?

Of course the ultimate energy carrier is LOVE.  When you walk in love, express in love, be in love, you are resonating with the highest of positive energy fields.

Do you have the time or space to receive?

A young seeker, keen to become the student of a certain master, is invited to an interview at the master’s house.  The student rambles on about all his spiritual experience, his past teachers, his insights and skills, and his pet philosophies.  The master listens silently and begins to pour a cup of tea.  He pours and pours, and when the cup is overflowing he keeps right on pouring.  Eventually the student notices what’s going on and interrupts his monologue to say, “Stop pouring!  The cup is full.”  The teacher says, “Yes, and so ae you.  How can I possibly teach you?”

There must be an inner state of openness and from here it is possible to receive anything.   Do you have the time or the space within, to consider the following ancient teachings that was a part of the ancient teachings from the Mystery Schools and restated in the Gospel of Thomas?

“When you are able
To make two become one,
The inside like the outside,
And the outside like the inside,
The higher like the lower,
So that a man is no longer male,
And a woman, female,
But male and female
Become a single whole;
When you ae able to fashion
An eye to replace an eye,
And form a hand in place of a hand,
Or a foot for a foot,
Making one image supersede another
-then you will enter in.”
 
We do not dissolve our lower nature, it is not warfare, we integrate the energy of the animal nature to a higher state of awareness that has always been with us because it is us. 
Be in beauty, walk in beauty, share in beauty and love in beauty.

Which Hemisphere is Driving Your Vehicle to Your Destination?

For those seeking to align themselves with their Higher Self, Overself, Oversoul or God-Self, whatever you choose to call it, one needs to get the activity of the left brain out of the way.  It has been very busily giving orders that is believed to be true by the right brain and there is then a manifestation of what is believed to be true and it will continue to be so until it is proven to it that it is not true.

For some people this takes place when the mind-set of a person has reached the point where the ego has given up and there is an awareness that they cannot do it themselves.  When a person reaches this particular point, this is when a person can begin to accomplish great things.  This is because now their ego is not in the way; their personal identity is not in the way and one becomes associated more with the life force that is part of the creativeness that actually created them.

Once you become in contact with this Higher Aspect within yourself you can say, I and the Father are becoming one.  By desiring to align yourself with the Deity, by going within yourself and finding your link with the Creator and becoming one with that essence you are then aligned and have access to all of the creativeness that abides within the universe.

Now an additional key to reaching this Higher State is to do something that the American Indian, as well as many Eastern cultures do, and that is no matter what one observes, it is necessary that he becomes a part of whatever it is, and has the knowledge that it is a part of him.  This is the link.  One looks at a shooting star and has the awareness, the feeling of being a part of that shooting star.

This is the aspect that makes it possible to have wonderful connections and experiences.  When you have the awareness of your part of the ecology and being within it you open yourself up to greater wisdom and enlightenment.  This is an expansion of yourself into all things that you look to align yourself with and then seek to be one with your God by going within the self and desiring to become one with the Deity… you then come to the realization that you are a part of God and God is always with you.

When one looks at Zen you realize that you can discern the energy pattern of the life of a stone.  A Zen Buddhist becomes the stone for a while and comes away with the feeling that life and energy behind life is truly immortal.

When you wish to impress something upon the non-material portion of your mind, you must continue to insist what your target is and what you wish.  I and my Father/Mother are One.  You must continue to insist, continue to talk about it and continue to keep it in the forefront of your mind.  Then the physical mind gets tired of it and the unconscious mind acts upon it.

See or set yourself into a scenario concerning the thing you would desire to be.  Then all the forces that would associate around your concept will come to cooperate to your efforts and you will move forward to your goal.  All the forces on every level and state of awareness will be present to assist you.

What is taking place is you are going from the material aspect of your being, through the quasi-material, from the quasi-material into the lower creative level of your spirit and then at the same time activating Higher Forces that would be associated with the capability of producing the thing that you are desiring to manifest. 

Don’t imagine how something is going to happen, just the desired goal you wish to manifest.  So-called miracles are available for ALL of you if you only know and will ask within yourself.  You must have the wisdom and the patience to wait for your desire to manifest.  The timing for manifestation is relative to the strength of your knowing that it will and must happen.

Learn to see the goodness within yourself and others and bypass the badness that you believe exists in yourself and others.

The energy of creation is always here and collects as an association to a kinetic pool of creativity.  It was there before this planet manifested and it continues to be here now.  All things are possible.

Another manner of reaching the desired state of attunement with the Higher Aspects is through your loving kindness and the desire to be of benefit to all people as well as all life forms that exist upon the earth.  Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “The best use of life is to spend it for something that outlasts it.”

The Butterfly and Healing

In perusing writings from some of the great healers from the past, they all tended to demonstrate some of the same principles and attributes.

Most of these men and women exhibited the precepts of Loving your neighbor and doing unto others as you would have them do unto you.  Now of course these words seem to be very simplistic and have been known throughout the ages but the more successful healers did not just espouse these thoughts, they lived and embodied these thoughts.

Most healers recognize that when a person desires to be healed and comes freely, of their own will, we are almost certain to heal them, regardless of the disease they might have; but if they are brought, or really do not desire to healed because they have gotten to the state that they don’t believe they can be helped, most healers might not perhaps succeed.

Most of the highly successful healers had/have a strong Will-Power and feel that the ‘Power’ is with them.  That ‘Power’ is an emanation of the Divine Mother-Father.  Successful Healers know that the spirit is within them and also that each and every person that they come in contact with contains an emanation from the Divine Source that can be activated and intensified leading to a healing taking place.

One successful healer from the past said, “I endeavor to live such a life as to have confidence in myself and I have the evidence that when I speak to an assembly I carry the magnetic force and principle with the words I speak, so that each one shall FEEL in the recesses of his individual soul that I practice what I teach.”

So how is this ‘Power’ developed, where does it come from?  The key is those simple words that we mentioned at the beginning of my message.  Love each and every person that resides within your neighborhood.  The more profound healers recognize their neighborhood encompasses everyone on the planet.  Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  The more love, beauty, happiness and peace that you would like to receive within your life, you must put forth towards all of your neighbors. 

Once you have lived the aforementioned precepts are you then given the ‘Power.’  No it is not given to you, it has evolved from within you like the transition of a caterpillar to a butterfly.

Now some healers from the past have described this ‘Power’ as feeling like a magnetic force.  “I would be ashamed, if I was a speaker or preacher, to address an audience and have some of them go to sleep because of a want of magnetic force.”  “One must have faith in himself and his ‘Power’ to have this influence; and whenever someone has this faith, REAL AND TRUE FAITH, the can accomplish any and all things.”

The use of the word magnetism or magnetic force should not be considered as just a blind or trite term.  It was a manner of expressing a strong pull or force that could be felt.  One healer stated, “I say I heal, but it is not me, it is the Divine Mother/Father that resides within me and that dwells within you just the same within me.  We are one common brotherhood, children of one common Parents and we ought to love one another.  If we could just all realize how we are spiritually connected.”

“This magnetism of love passing from one to another is an influence that is felt by susceptible persons.  There is not one here present, but feels that I have love toward him, there is not one but feels there is in my expression, sincerity.  I know that we are ever molding our faces in expression by our thoughts, deeds and motives.”

“I hold that the purer the life, the better the healer will be.”  “If there is anyone here who wishes to be a healing medium, let him or her go to the sick and feel a good faith, with a strong, positive Will-Force, feel that all are your brothers, sisters and children; and they will be healed by the touch, when conditions be right they will be cured.”  Now it is not necessary that a person must physical touch another person to activate the ill person’s inner healer, the magnetic force or ‘Power’ can reach any distance, go through any substance and still maintain the same strength.

One healer from the past stated that thoughts are like the aroma of a rose.  You cannot see that aroma, but you can smell it.  Thoughts permeate our atmosphere as an aroma and so we can be influenced by both positive and less than positive thoughts.  “So we can think of a friend or foe with kind thoughts and good will, and desire to do them good and you WILL do them good and make them happy, or by thinking ill of them make them unhappy.  Each one of you has the power to throw off a bad magnetism of anger, hatred or revenge.  Do not do this, for what you sow, that you shall also reap, for these influences will all come back to you again.”

So perhaps now it makes sense that when you live a life of good will, sending love to all of your neighbors, treating each and every person as you would like to be treated…you create this beautiful atmosphere around your own self, your caterpillar morphs into a butterfly that has the ability to influence, heal and bring joy to others throughout the world.  I have chosen the example of the butterfly because those individuals who truly carry and emanate the ‘Power’ also have a lightness of spirit.  They flow effortlessly upon the loving currents of our Divine Parents and they can heal others with just a glance, thought and just being within their presence many people are healed.

All of you can become the beautiful butterfly that you are meant to become.  Living life with a Beautiful Heart, an Open Mind and a Humble Spirit; loving all of your neighbors and treating each and every person that you meet in the same manner in which you would like to be treated, enlivens your ‘Being’ and you then attain the “Power’ to accomplish all things.  In your faith that what I have shared is true, you shall know the truth, become the truth and all things will then become possible for you.

You Already Possess That Which You Seek.

In very ancient times there were three formulas that were used to manifest that which one desires.  They were stated as the formula for idealization, the formula for affirmation and the formula for actualization.  In more modern times, if we consider the 1500s as more modern, Paracelsus stated it as imagination, faith and will.

The concept is to create within your thoughts the highest and best ideal form, pattern, design or mold, whatever is the easiest for you to conceive, of that which you desire to bring into our objective reality.
The clearer that you define the ideal, outline and form that you wish to produce in physical form, along with your energizing the need for it to exist or manifest, along with your sure knowledge that it is necessary and you Will have it, it will tend to materialize.

Why will something materialize out of nothingness?  From the earliest times the ancient teachers have stated that there is a “supersensible and real cosmic medium that exists, which interpenetrates, influences and supports the tangible and apparent world, and which is amenable to the categories of both philosophy and physics.  This ‘cosmic medium’ or ‘astral light’ is close to what is termed ether.”

Now this ether is used by those who have achieved, what is considered magical activities, through their imposing upon this cosmic medium, their own thought and will, as easily as one might impose their energy upon things we can physically see.

Following the concept of ‘as above, so below; as below, so above,’ the wise have used this concept to create between the seen and the unseen worlds.

Through the creation or building of an ethereal pattern, outline, design or mold, it tends to attract to itself, and to build around itself a materialized counterpart or material representation in the physical world.  When you look to create something upon our physical plane, you attract persons, conditions, things and modify environmental factors that aid in the process of manifesting that which you desire.  What you might not realize is that something was taking place in a corresponding etheric level.   In actuality it was taking place first in the unseen world before you manifested it in the physical world.

The unseen world is actually the underpinning of all that you see, feel and experience.  What is probably the hardest thing for most people to conceive is how they have control over both the seen and unseen worlds.  The equilibrium or manifestation in both the unseen and seen can be controlled by the disciplined ‘Thought and Will of men and women.’

What is considered as magic by most people is little more than a mental discipline of strengthening and learning to focus your OWN WILL POWER.  It has been known through thousands of years, ‘Just as the powers of the body can be developed to an amazing extent by athletes, so may the power so the soul be likewise developed through learning how to Will.’

It was stated by one of the greatest physicists that everything exists within the ‘thought stream of God.’  Through the extension of the concept, as below so above and as above so below, the ancient mystery schools taught that Humankind, the microcosm, may proceed to create by means of the deliberate employment of the same methods and processes, and through the same principles ‘as those employed by Nature , or the Cosmos, the macrocosm.

When you think about our human creations here on earth, whatever you observe, first it was conceived within the thought or idea of an individual.  Then it became manifest within our physical world.
I would leave you with this thought…science has come around to the thought, although their thinking is not quite complete, that there is a universal ether, an immaterial, imponderable substance similar to what ancient philosophers termed the Akasha.  The concept is that this ether pervades all space and it is the ultimate state of condition of all materiality.

“The Ether is a substance filling all space, carrying in its infinite throbbing bosom the specks of aggregated dynamic forces called worlds.  It embodies the ultimate spiritual principle, and represents the unity of those forces and energies from which sprang, as their source, all phenomena, physical, mental, and spiritual as they are known to us.”  We all have been given the ability to create and demonstrate our ability to utilize creative energy as provided to us by the Creator.

I carry a coin from 200 BC, depicting in ancient Roman religion and myth, Janus.  Janus is the god of beginnings, gates, transitions, time, duality, doorways, passages, and endings. He is usually depicted as having two faces, since he looks to the future and to the past. 

The All is in all, and all are in the All.  You who read these words are capable of everything that you might conceive.  Janus is within us and within us is everything that has been and will be.

Are they Geniuses or Really Good Listeners?

As you peruse the biographies of individuals, the world would call the greatest of geniuses, you find a very interesting dynamic.  These individuals credited their amazing discoveries, inventions, poetry, music and ideas to either an inner guide or to their dreams.

Robert Louis Stevenson describing his inner guides said, “…and for the Little People, what shall I say they are but just my Brownies, God bless them!  Who do one-half my work while I am fast asleep, and in all human likelihood, do the rest for me as well, when I am wide awake and fondly suppose I do it for myself.”

Puccini stated, “…the music of Madam Butterfly was dictated to me by God; I was merely instrumental in putting it on paper and communicating it to the public.”

Goethe said of his writing of the novel, Werther, “I wrote the book almost unconsciously, like a somnambulist, and was amazed when I realized what I had done.”

William Blake said of his work, Milton, that “I have written this poem from immediate dictation, twelve or sometimes twenty or thirty lines at a time, without premeditation, and even against my will.”

Richard Strauss, said, “While the ideas were flowing in upon me, the entire musical, measure by measure, it seemed to me that I was dictated to by two wholly different Omnipotent Entities…I was definitely conscious of being aided by more than an earthy Power, and it was responsive to my determined suggestions.”

Brahms said, “I have to be in a semi-trance condition to get such results – a condition when the conscious mind is in temporary abeyance, and the subconscious is in control.”

“The English poet Shelley declared that ‘One after another the greatest writers, poets and artists confirm the fact that their work comes to them from beyond the threshold of consciousness.’”

The 1936 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine was awarded to Otto Loewi, who discovered and demonstrated that nerve impulses are both chemical and electrical in nature.  The experimental procedure to prove his theory came to him in a dream.

Rudyard Kipling stated that he had an ‘inner helper’ who he could get into contact with if he did not think consciously about reaching him but rather drifted toward him.

Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869 “…went to bed exhausted after struggling to conceptualize a way to categorize the elements of nature based upon their atomic weights.  He later said, ‘I saw in a dream a table where all the elements fell into place as required.  Awakening, I immediately wrote it down on a piece of paper.’”

Elias Howe worked for years to invent a lockstitch sewing machine.  For years his attempts were futile.  Due to a ‘nightmare,’ as he defined it, he was shown exactly how to build the device that he sought for so long.  “He dreamed he was captured by a tribe of savages who took him prisoner before their king.  ‘Elias Howe, ‘roared the monarch, I command you on pain of death to finish this machine at once.”  Within the dream he was given the answer that he needed.

According to the poet Keats, “the description of Apollo in the third book of my poem, Hyperion, came to me by chance or magic – to be, as it were, something given to me.”

Obviously the names I have mentioned have been recognized as great innovators, trail blazers and individuals of great genius.  They are recognized as great due to their contributions in their various fields.  But would they have been considered great if they had not made their discoveries, composed their music or written their books?  Perhaps and perhaps not!

There are hundreds of more examples of individuals who perceived through dreams, visions and help from within, information that has thrust them into the category of genius.  I am proposing that some of them were just great listeners.

In my late twenties after I would awake during the night from a dream I would hear poetry.  I keep a legal size pad next to my bed and without opening my eyes I would write down what I would hear.  Some of the poetry is 24 lines long.  I have never rewritten any words as they were dictated to me.  If you are curious you can find some of my poetry at www.lesscomplicated.net  I am fully aware of the two different entities that have given me the words as each has their own particular subject and style.

I also have over 5 thick books of dreams that I have recorded over the last 15 years.  I wish that I had kept my dream journals from my late twenties through late forties.  My dreams answered questions that I was pondering during the day; gave me commentary on the lives of people from the past or present; foretold future events and inspired me toward my healing work.

So, I am not just sharing stories of people from the past, I can tell you that all of this is possible. 

Some of the individuals that I mentioned were seeking the answer to some question while others stated that they weren’t particularly searching for anything but received information.  So, what about YOU!

Why not YOU!  I believe, although I am biased, that our group is very spiritual, loving, beautiful and talented.  If you have been with me for the last couple of years you know that I continue to share with you that all things are possible.  All things are possible and you don’t need gurus, special courses or secret symbols to achieve wonderful results.  So now I coming to you with an easy approach…how about just listening.

If you realize that this is possible then it will manifest for you.  You can place your question in your mind and now you know you will get the answer if you believe and just listen.  Hopefully you will now understand that if you weren’t meant to have this happen to you that you would not be reading my lines.  I am here to awaken this concept in YOU. 

Why not YOU?  Yes, your guides and dreamers will work with you.  In fact, they have always been working with you but you were not listening.  By the way, in my last post I mentioned about sitting quietly for twenty minutes during the day.  Just drifting off, relaxing and listening then will work for you.

“Don’t Bite My Finger.  Look Where I Am Pointing”

The inner secret of every mystery cult and the inner meaning of the words of every great teacher upon this plane has been to become aware of our highest potential, to understand that we can remember more of who we are.

There is another part of yourself that dwells just beyond your ordinary consciousness, some call it a supra-consciousness, an Overself or an Oversoul.

When we come into a life we are hypnotized from infancy by our environment and culture, into certain beliefs, attitudes, systems and practices that have been fostered upon us by individuals who have not had contact with this deeper aspect within themselves.

The reading of scripture or sacred texts, while enlightening and potentially empowering, is not a replacement for the actual practice of becoming in touch with this higher aspect within yourselves.

A famous neurophysiologist, Warren McCulloch was known to say, “Don’t bite my finger.  Look where I am pointing.”

While some people are stating that a wave of spiritual awareness has come to the earth plane in these last several years, I would ask, ‘what does the term spiritual awareness really mean?’

I would suggest that we are hypnotized by routines that we want to believe make us spiritual.  Attending places of worship for one day a week and then acting in manners that are contrary to what we read, is this acting in a spiritual manner?  In today’s world that appears to be little life in the documents that we label as our spiritual literature, the true life is only in our actions in resonance with the scriptural words.

As you become hypnotized by the political climate and religious figures who act contrary to the highest morality and teachings in sacred scripture, and you accept their actions because of who you think they are, you move further away from your own inner truth.  When you begin to make excuses for those who you follow in the religious, political and social areas, you move further away from your own center of knowing.

Every great teacher, philosopher and enlightened guide has pointed to the pathway of your going inside and having a direct contact with your Creator God.  Within you, you will find the answers that you seek and not from those who talk a good story but don’t walk their talk.

For me, spiritual awareness is the recognition of a spiritual realm that is the underpinning of this physical reality that we are experiencing.  Those enlightened individuals, who periodically come to the earth plane, and live lives as examples of the highest aspects of love, truth, beauty, compassion, brotherhood and selflessness show us what it means to have spiritual awareness.

Wearing a robe, holding a sacred book and preaching does not make one a spiritual or even an enlightened being.   How you talk, how you walk, how you act and the light that shines from your being is more of an indication of how close one is to that highest aspect that resides within themselves.  That light within you has a closer connection to your source than your physical consciousness has at this moment.

Some of you have commented how much you like the positive and loving aspects of my posts.  I have not discussed politics or discussed current events but continue to point out higher potentials and what more is possible.  It is in this vein that I am writing these words to you.

You are getting too involved with the drama of the show.  Instead of observing and recognizing there is a higher purpose for what is taking place at this time in the world, you have fallen into someone else’s script and become their actor.

We have come into the schoolroom to demonstrate how we use our creative energies.  We have been given the opportunity to demonstrate, love, compassion, truth, beauty, selflessness and to understand that everything, and that means everything on this planet, is interrelated.  Exemplary individuals, throughout history, have demonstrated to us the highest spiritual precepts we are capable of attaining.

You have the choice to do whatever you please; to think and act in every situation as you feel is necessary and true to your character.  This is free choice.  While the religious texts have not lost their examples and true meaning, we are beginning to lose sight of the spiritual essence behind the words.  Our modern interpreters do not really understand what they are talking about.  They are bending and twisting and interpreting based on their own limited understanding and beliefs.

The surest way to understanding is to go within the closet of your own being; make contact with your own innermost spiritual essence and break this hypnotic trance that seems to be so prevalent.  Might is not right, power is not truth and the one with the most money is not necessarily the one with the highest spiritual insight.

My love for you and purpose for writing this post is that you don’t listen to others because of who they say they are or what position they hold, but that you go within and recognize your own highest truth.  Does it make sense that your sacred book might say to love all people and treat all as you would like to be treated and yet an interpreter of that book casts away everyone that doesn’t believe as he or she does?  Trust yourself and know that the highest truth is within you and act within that truth.

Take some time for introspection.  Take some time to sit quietly and ask yourself are you acting at the highest and best that you know is possible?  Are you occupied so much with what is taking place in the world, that you can’t sit still for twenty minutes per day in quietude, without your mind reliving or planning discussions with friends and loved ones over why your politics are right and why your particular religion is the only outlet for God’s plan on earth?

Again, “Don’t bite my finger, but look where I am pointing.”  I love all of the modern conveniences and tools that we have at this time, but they are just that…tools.  Instead of having more time for the appreciation of the beauty, love and our kinship with all life, which is part of the Creation, we are more stressed, unhappy and locked into a life of having to pay for our tools.  How many people do you know, that you can say they are truly happy, content and in joy?

Don’t be hypnotized by other people’s political or religious beliefs; don’t succumb to the belief that only science can provide the truth; that modern conveniences mean you have attained your highest purpose on earth; and don’t give up your moral compass because someone you admire is off course and you need to justify that they are right.  Go within yourself and humbly wait in silence and you will feel a warmth and eventually a spiritual presence within a light, that will become your true guide, friend, teacher and Father/Mother.

At these times of great outer conflict, confusion and misunderstanding, there resides within yourself a place of peace, harmony, love, beauty and greater guidance.

The Gumball Gift
 
Although I have been very active in sports and have achieved national recognition while competing, I have never been very handy when it comes to anything mechanical or working with tools.
 
I have often tried to overcome my problem of being mechanically challenged but have not had great success over the years.  This seems rather strange since my father had so many abilities when it came to electrical and mechanical repairs.  My father was a master electrician (during the war he built aircraft engines), he could repair any type of automobile, small appliances and built tools that would help him repair mechanical machines.  It was not unusual that my father would buy a product and then immediately figure out a way that it could be improved.  Many times he would send suggestions into companies, and more often than not, the next company model included some of my father’s suggestions.
 
While I had hands like glue and never dropped passes in football, and I could shoot and make half-court baskets while sitting on my backside, when these same hands were holding some type of implement used for repairing, they became spastic. 
 
One of my more memorable experiences begin with my deciding to change the spark plugs on my 1969 VW bug.   It was nearing the first half of a football game on television and I thought I would go into the garage and change the spark plugs during half time.  No problem I imagined.  I started working and the first couple of plugs came out well and then the next one was a bit tight.  So, I figured I must need a bit more force.  It still was not coming out so then I just really forced it. Then everything moved easily because half of the spark plug was in the socket wrench while the other half was in the engine bloc.  I called over to my father to take a look, he just smiled!  Even he couldn’t help me.  So, it was off to the car agency and a nice whopping bill to bore the spark plug out of the engine block. Oh, yes, I didn’t see the rest of that football game.
 
I don’t know why I am constantly fooled by companies that advertise easy assembly on their products.   For me, there is no easy assembly.  I have tried a few products from Asia which stress they are easy assembly.  Never happens.  When I am finished, ends flop around, corners never meet and when I’m finished there is always some extra part lying around.
 
One Christmas I decided to buy and assembly a gumball machine for my brother.  I purchased it because it said easy assembly and no special tools were needed. Now how hard could it be to put together a gumball machine?  Here was a perfect opportunity to demonstrate to my brother that I could do something mechanical, if one would consider this as being mechanical?
 
My brother had followed in my father’s footsteps regarding his mechanical and repair ability so this meant a lot to me.  Although my brother Barry is a year and one half younger, he always was the leader when it came to experimentation.  I remember one day when my parents had gone on a little weekend trip, my brother mentioned to me that he wondered how the washing machine worked.  I told him that I didn’t have any idea.  I believe I was 16 and he was 14 and one half.  So, out he went to the garage with me following close behind.  The next thing I knew he had parts scattered all over the garage floor.  What I had, was my eyes bugging out of my head.  I didn’t have the slightest conception how to place it back together. 
 
In my early years I never seemed to be able to visualize or picture things clearly in my mind once they were taken apart.  I can see things are together when I am looking at them but when something is taken apart I don’t always seem to understand how the parts go together.  Later I would understand that I see subjectively and not objectively.  Barry did finally put everything back together before our parents returned, so and I was very relieved. 
 
Now after several decades of endless jokes from my brother and father, it was finally my time to show everyone that I could put something together.
 
After I thought I had finished piecing the gumball machine together, I did note that there were a couple of screws lying around.  I was hoping that these were extra parts!  I rapped up my brother’s Christmas gift using my go-to-form-fitting rapping material, the always reliable Reynolds Aluminum Foil.  Over the years I have utilized this rapping paper for all Christmas presents, birthday presents and I love you gifts, hey, it’s the best!
 
Christmas day arrived and I brought my completed project to my brother’s house.  The moment came when Barry was opening my special present and I was ready to hear him say, ‘I am proud of you Steve.’  Instead his first words were, ‘how do the gum balls get out of the machine?’  What a foolish question I thought.  Then I took a closer look at the gumball machine and I began to have that same question. 
 
Even though I couldn’t repair most things, I learned how to get things fixed.   After my parents moved to Sedona they would occasionally return and stay with me in Los Angeles.  I would leave any small appliance that needed repair, directly in the pathway where my father would be walking.  I left them in the hallway to the bathroom, on the kitchen table as well as my father’s favorite spot on the sofa in the television room.  My father just couldn’t stand something not moving smoothly or making noise.  He would fix appliances, doors, gates and anything that rotated but was not moving smoothly and quietly.
 
I remember him saying, ‘what is this toaster doing in the hallway’?  Or he would say, why is this device making noise?’ Off he would go to the garage.  You don’t need to be an expert in everything, you just need to know who to call, or where to place items, when you need something done. J
 
I have some terrific friends who do all types of construction, electric work and general repairs.  I will stand next to them and watch everything they do and just marvel at their ability.  When I tell them how lucky they are to be gifted to do these things, they always reply, ‘Steve, we all have different gifts, and when I listen to you talking and joking, I marvel at how uplifted and empowered I feel.’
 
I guess the moral of this is that you don’t always have to be an expert in all things in order to achieve your goals.  We can be lacking in one area but shine in so many others.

It’s About One’s Perspective and Objective

I received the following question on one of my posts…

“Steven my question is, once one gives of themselves as I always have, what about the people that so often have taken that for granted and were so inconsiderate, and took kindness for weakness. Please give me your opinion... I have been let down a good amount of times for giving?”

This is the only manner in which I can answer your question.  Everything depends on the reason why someone performs a task or provides help.  Are they expecting something back in return?  Do they need to have some acknowledgement for doing what was the correct and proper thing to do?

If a banana peel or some other slippery substance was lying on the ground, and someone would pass it, I believe one of three things might happen.  In my little scenario nobody else is around at the first moment the person has come across the object.

The first would be that a person might think, I don’t have time to stop and pick it up and since I made it safely, I don’t care.

The second scenario might be that someone thinks, I would like someone to recognize what I am doing by picking this dangerous object up and they will congratulate me in some manner.  So I will wait until I see someone coming and then they will see me pick it up.

The third scenario might be, that one picks it up immediately to make sure that nobody will get hurt, and just deposits it in a safe spot because they know it is the right thing to do.

This is my first response to your question. Your perspective and other people’s perspective is involved with what takes place in any situation.

Next we should factor in whether you have gone way out of your way to do something because you were asked to do it and the recipient just didn’t take the time to thank you properly because they are not the ‘thank you’ type of person.  In this case if this is a friend then you are well aware that you are not going to receive that ‘thank you’ from this person so why keep trying?

You asked for my opinion and I can only give you my experience.  I am a giver and everyone around me knows that.  I give because I enjoy supporting, enhancing, balancing and creating.  I give because I have lots to share and it is fun to assist, whether someone thanks me or not. I do tasks because I like to see them completed and I don’t stand on ceremony over who does what or how much. 

All who have worked with me or for me know that I don’t need to receive credit or recognition for what is done by any joint effort.  I saw something that I had some familiarity with and just did it.  This is how I have been for all of my teenage and adult life.  I just believe in providing service or help without any strings attached or needed.

This being said, I totally understand that every person has different needs and interacts with people in a variety of ways.  There is nothing wrong with wanting to be respected, acknowledged or properly compensated for actions that are taken in support for another person.  Responses and actions are based upon perspective, upbringing, awareness, and norms within certain groups.

I am familiar with several people who have told me that their boss or head of their family only acknowledges them when they do something wrong, according to their superior.  The giver could have accomplished the most unbelievable result and they don’t receive a thank you or any acknowledgement at all.  They are told, you should have accomplished that anyway!  If they perform the slightest thing in less than what was expected and they are chastised.

There are billions and billions of people and billions and billions of slightly different reactions that people will make in the same situation.

My suggestion would be to align yourself with people who appreciate beauty, love, and honesty and have a reverence for life.  People who smile, laugh and have fun.  I believe you will find a better reception for those things you’ve done to help someone else.

Life Within the Light?

The old philosophers believed that there were two ways to acquire knowledge.  Either through intuition or experience.

They believed that Intuition reveals things to us while experience tests us and provides impulses and urging for our further development.

Although we are aware when intuition comes to us, it is difficult to explain what its mechanism and substance is. 

Some old teachers used an analogy of Light to explain the substance or essence of intuition.  They explained that there are two kinds of light; a visible radiance that we call brightness and an invisible light we call darkness.  The belief was that darkness and light were fundamentally the same substance but different in degrees.

Light is a twofold being in that it contains quality and substance.  In thinking of the term darkness let’s use the term invisible as far as this explanation is concerned.  The dark light or invisible aspect of visible light is luminous to the soul and dark to our body.  The visible physical radiance is bright to our senses and dark to the soul.

The light we see contains energy that is necessary to support all the visible things we see.  The invisible aspect of light supports the invisible power and functions of humans including intuition. We might say that intuition is the capability of becoming attuned to the inside of light.  Now I don’t want this to become too complicated so let’s say that visible light is responsible for health and the invisible aspects contained within visible light causes wisdom.

“The light of:
Body – Gives strength, energy, growth and development.
Soul – Gives understanding
Mind – Gives wisdom
Spirit – Bestows truth.”  Now all of these aspects need nourishment which is contained within light.

The total burden of all energy that is needed is contained within every ray of visible light.  When we look at something we see either its objective physical form or we can perceive its inner light.  Everything that lives, lives in light.  Everything that exists, radiates light.  When we look upon something we can see the thing according to its outer characteristics or according to its inner nature.  “The heart has eyes as well as the body.  The mind has ears and all internal parts of people have equivalent senses of cognition.”

We see nature because of the light that shines upon it but we see the true life of nature because of the light that shines within it.  “Through observation we behold things lighted, by intuition we behold things self-luminous.

Outwardly we see only the reflection of light upon objects and life forms because they have become visible to our sight, but intuitively we can behold the inner light of all things.

Through reflected light we see shape, color, number and arrangement.  Through the inner light we can see goodness, beauty and integrity.

Continuing with the belief of some ancient teachers, the visible part of light is only a shadow or reflection of the invisible light which is truly the source of all life in the universe.  The universe in its totality is suspended in an infinite spiritual life-light.  All things exist within this light.  There is a sea of eternal light which some called the Luminous Nature of God.  Pythagoras stated, the body of God is composed of the substance of light.

Some teachers from the past taught that there are three suns within our solar system.  One is the physical sun we see, a second is a sun in the astral/psychic plane and the third is a spiritual sun.  These three suns bestow life to the worlds according to their own natures.  The physical sun warms and reveals bodies; the psychic sun nourishes the soul and the spiritual or root sun nourishes and sustains the spirit of all things.  The suns do not create the light but are the vehicles through which the light is projected.

The spiritual sun has to do with the divine nature of all things. The psychic or astral sun deals with ignorance and the physical sun dissipates the darkness we call crystallization.

Truth is a kind of light, when it shines another kind of darkness is dissipated.  “Truth is to darkness of ignorance, what sun is to the darkness of night.”

Our earth and all its life forms exist within a field of light, even at night.  This light is not affected by the alternation of day and night.  The light from the psychic and spiritual suns never ceases.  We are constantly surrounded and penetrated at all times by THE LIGHT.  We can never be further from or nearer to any essential principle that is necessary for our survival.  Like fish in water, we are not necessarily aware of what sustains our existence.

There is spiritual light, emotional light, mental light, vital light and physical light.  Energies and awareness are conveyed to each of these aspects from the light of the sun in which level or plane they are operating within.

“And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.”

May the light from your inner beauty, love, harmony and truth shine outward and illuminate your every step!
